Subject: Soil Finisher vs. Disc and crumbler - pros / cons


are primarially no-till soybeans -strip till corn. Dont need to do alot of tillage but for occasional leveling, or misc other tillage applications would like something that could handle corn stalks better and since bought finisher years back have gotten larger tractor and could do larger disc. to me discs seem more reasonablly priced per tractorhouse. does anyone have a disc, crumbler combination and are you happy with the results? are discs as hard on soil as i have heard? FYI would be looking at IH 490 or Case IH 496 disc. would be doing mainly standing cornstalks but bean stubble would not be out of question, and looking for one pass - plant into
