northcentral iowa
We have been applying 9 gal of 32% using Totally Tubular split on the back of the planter. I believe that this concentrated band is a more effective source of N for the young seedlings than the broadcast approach due to the placement and reduced opportunity for tie up with the COC residue. Hard to say if you could get by with less but 30lbs has been sufficient for us to get the crop to sideress time with no other N source in COC. Good luck
