Hertford, NC | The rule isn't "half the cost". The regulation actually reads that a private pilot can "share" expenses. Sharing can be 50/50 or 99/1, it's all considered sharing. As a side note, if you have a decent relationship with your local spray pilot, he should be glad to snap you a few pictures the next time he is up flying, or if he has a "people" type airplane, give you a ride so that you can photograph/see for yourself. I know that I am always happy to do odd jobs like that as a "thank you" for my customers, and I think most operators feel the same way. | |
