Understood. I wanted to stop in at your place with Frederic on Thurs but ran out of time. I took him on a whirlwind tour of Lancaster County- Jeff Frey, Deer Country (he wanted JD souveniers) Binkley & Hurst, Pequea Planter and Eugene Lapp's farm. He loved seeing progressive cover crop farms and how local machinery dealers are catering to no till/cover crop farmers. Of course the Amish facination along the way was a highlight as well.
There's so much potential before us in agriculture. It's becoming clearer to me that planting shorter season varieties may be the most effective and economical way to add cover crops in our rotations. Then this concept of mixing species as covers and in with cash crops in certian situations may have merit. Exciting times!
