Nowhere in the FMCSA rules or the SD state stututes does it say anything about .04 at any other time than "while driving a commercial vehicle". I don't know about Indiana laws, but in SD the .04 only applies while behind the wheel of a truck or bus. Get in your pickup and it's .08. I know that's a great myth that people like to claim is true but it's not.

Neither is the rumored requirement of renewing your HAZMAT license every two years. I was the only guy around that had one while everybody else who didn't was claiming that. It's every 5 years.



The FMCSA rules do state - no alcohol within 4 hours before you go on duty . . . . . .
If you have a .08, if cought driving a CMV - your class D (or regular) driving privilages will be revolked along with your CMV licence, for at least one year ~
