Subject: RE: Canadian Wheat Board - question for Ontario guys

"While we can sell our wheat on a moments notice and forward contracting is always possible the grain companies don't assume the risk without charge. I don't want to tell a western farmer how they should market their grain having never lived under the CWB system but don't be under the illusion that things are all rosy in Ontario."

Question I would ask would you assume forward contract risk for no cost, go and hedge on the board thats no fun somedays, been there done that! I have as well as several producers in our area have 2012 forward cash contracts for HRWW that are over $300/mt, how is that not bettter than working under a single desk trade pool system! Not everything is rosy in ontario but you got the choice to market your wheat where you want, to how you want at the price you want and thats just rosy enough for me!
