Jay,
We have been grazing and strip tilling for about 7 years. Minimum has been $20/acre and up to $25. When running the chopping head though you have shreaded a number of leaves which will reduce the feed value for the cattle considerably. I know you have a little less snow down there which leads to a more open grazing season than we have but have when shredded you leave much less usable feed for the cattle in my experience. Another thing. ONLY WORK WISH SOMEBODY YOU KNOW AND TRUST WHEN GRAZING AND COMES HIGHLY RECOMEENDED! I have been, and I know a number of people who bring their/or someone elses cattle and dine and dash. When you find someone you like and can work with KEEP THEM. Email or call me if you want to talk about this.
