Sorry to hear you've got 'em, Alan. I second the Chigger-RID (sp) stuff. Apple drugstores always have it; if no one near you stocks it, I'll get some here and send it to you via Hoober parts guys.
Second solution is to put gas on yourself and light a match. Almost did that once - I was covered up with them.
