For BCS bowls team quality is a major factor. I'm thinking that a team has to be in the top 16? to qualify for a BCS bowl. For most other bowls I agree its about the $'s the fan base will spend. Now about ISU vs Iowa. First of all Iowa hasn't avoided anything. Secondly, its about $'s, nothing else. Selling tickets to home games in big stadiums generates a lot of revenue. The difference between a sold out Jack 3 and a sold out Kinnick is ~ $1.5 million in ticket sales for one game. If ISU would agree to always play at Iowa City the series would continue for sure. ISU has the preseason warm ups also as does every school in a major conference. UNI was supposed to be a warm-up.
