Paulding County, Ohio
Hello Trent! I hope it worked out well for you this spring.

On our farm we typically drill into standing cereal rye that is headed out and pollinating (4-5 feet tall) Not necessarily by choice, ground conditions seem to work out that way.

Other local farmers who have better drainage and more acres to cover drill into various heights and maturities.

If the ground were fit, I would prefer drilling in at 5-10" high, let both crops grow for a while and then give One shot of glyphosate after the beans come up.

A couple of other local guys sneak in some high yield soybeans like this year after year, it works well.
