Macon, IL | Mine seem to appreciate cold hard cash. Exactly like someone above said, hopefully they see you being fair with them and don't raise rent so if corn doesn't stay up you aren't stuck in a bad position.
At the end of harvest I look at about what I am going to make and look at what I pay in rent. If they are way out of whack I pay a bonus, if they are close I send a small gift certificate at Christmas.
Be open and honest with landlords, when I don't pay a bonus I show all expenses in end of year farm report...wether lime-or tile repair expenses completed by me, etc. | |
