Seems like a couple of years ago they made a provision that a minimum % of the field or unit had to be planted to the crop in question for APH purposes. This was to keep people from doing what you describe, or using the very best part of a field and fertilizing the crap out of it to artificially increase the APH for the unit. People trying to scam the system are the reason there are new rules put in place regularly. You are also right about using yield monitor information for APH, but you will still need bin measurements, settlement sheets, or whatever to prove bushels in the event of a loss, and they can go back 3 years. If the yield monitor shows 185 for APH, but you only have proof that you delivered 160, you're probably going to end up on a list somewhere. | |
