central - east central Minnesota - | ajj0034 - 8/28/2011 09:35 i was talking with a landowner about renting his ground and i about puked in my mouth when he said the previous tenent offered 450 per acre. their is no way a young farmer can go and get that kind of money. it just amazes me how much these big farmers can offer for rent. until prices go down the big are going to get bigger and small are going to keep getting smaller due to rent. oh well what you going to do.
Yes, it tough to get a start or grow . . . . so, what are you going to do ? How can you compete? That's what you need to figure out - in order to get that ground for $450 + per acre . . . . . . .
On a side note, was talking with a guy - He's more then satisfied with $10 - 15 dollars per acre profit. He farms many acres to make a substantural profit at the end of the year . . . ..
