southern MN | I won't predict corn prices, I'm never even close.
In my little neighborhood of southern Minesota, we were terribly wet into June. Was worse west and north of me, so I'm not complaining, got everything planted, tho 3 weeks late.
The hot spell we had actually helped the crops catch up a week or 2 of the late planting - we had ample soil moisture and was very humid 'here'.
But, 6 weeks later, we have run out of soil moisture. Can't believe that would happen in these heavy soils, doesn't hardly ever get dry, but - it's dry. Beans on sand or gravel hills are curling up brown. Corn is firing up on the hills, and starting to show dryness in the lower areas too.
Did some tiling last week, at 9 feet they found a little tiny seepage of water. The peat bog was damp as usual of course.
Anyhow, it is getting dry here, real dry.
