Nevada, Iowa | Yeah, this doesn't deserve a second consideration. I don't know what threshold you're using and where you're located but my opinion is that most of that info is antiquated. I feel that if you see any significant number of aphids and the weather forecast is favorable for their multiplication, add the insecticide. I will probably get seriously flamed for this but I believe there are never enough beneficial insects for soybeans in this time frame. Any thing that eats aphids will be two weeks behind the curve, just like the established thresholds. There are some insecticides that are about as cheap as the fuel you're going to burn. The only what if might be spider mites, if you're very dry you may want to carefully choose your product at this point in time. | |
