Ok, my point was that it's a lot hotter and drier here than in any of the other crop-growing areas of the U.S. I have never been to Iraq or Afghanistan, so i would not make an attempt to compare what it's like here to over there. As for your comment about growing corn in texas, i invite you to come and give it a shot.
