Heck......(opps, can't say that anymore), a few years ago the wacko's tried to stop ND landowners from mowing before July 15 on the grounds that it not only provided nesting cover, but also allowed the deer to hide in the grass and thus wouldn't be frightened into darting across the road and getting killed.

These nuts actually believed that providing cover would prevent deer colisions when common sense indicates that a bare ditch will keep the deer back from the highways.
