Subject: How deeply should we be looking at yield data?

Is it really necessary or practical to look at field data in "tenth" and "hundredths" or will whole numbers suffice when analyzing field data? Is Ag Leader, JDMap, Farm Works type quasi - GIS / GIS tools sufficient enough software to do all of the analysis that we really need to optimize field performance? Where does the law of diminishing marginal returns kick in for crunching field data?
