Subject: Not really wanting to start an argument, but

Central Illinois
some of the reasons for staying in a 50-50 rotation are a little weak, from an economic point of view, in good corn growing country. I recognize some areas don't grow corn well, or beans do yield really well. Sometimes other factors come into play. But after reading some of the reasons why some are still growing beans, it reminds me of some farmers around hear that used to grow wheat. Because that's what we always have done.

I am not saying everyone should do it. Heck, I probably shouldn't want anyone else to do it because that makes a better market for me. I guess I am trying to say don't get locked into anything (tillage, chemical, machinery, rotation, etc.) just because "that's the way we have always done it"
