Last fall I let an oil well drilling company spread Bentonite drilling fluids on about 60 acres.   3 wells worth.   I was told by other farmers it was a good thing.  I was also paid to do it.  
it is fallow this summer so I dont have any results yet.  i have noticed that it has made the ground set up like a rock on top.

Please tell me how is the best way to manage it,  and what are the other benifits to it besides water holding capacity.  Thanks
