Just the opposite here. Corn planted into cover is a lot smaller than corn planted into relatively bare ground. The more cover the further behind the corn. Here it's a soil tempature issue. We are having a very cold year and need every heat unit possible. I still am finding soil temps 5 degrees colder under residue.
