Personal opinion - I would have a set and install them for wheat.
I appreciate your opinion on alot of topics...but in this case personal experience is going to trump personal opinion.
I suspect you (OP) grow similar varieties of soft red as we do and you will have a perfectly clean sample with a LOT less loss and more capacity with the round bar/interrupter combo.
Not to mention you can switch crops in a few minutes.
