Subject: Swath Control with SF1 on 1790 planter

Jackson County, AL
We started out OK with it we thought. Looked like it was turning on/off like it should. Found out later it was about 7ft late shutting on/off. JD tech came out and helped a little but the only solution to date is gearing down to 6th from 10th when it should be working the clutches. This fixes the problem it seems but definitely isn't ideal. The settings on the response time are as fast as possible and the distance to the planter has been adjusted to help but still having to slow down. Is there something we're missing or can we expect this from now on. Should say that our Deere dealer isn't very helpful at all with the AMS stuff. Seem to just know enough to be dangerous. There was no time spent on setup and no follow up when it was time to go to the field. I felt like there should have been a tech there when the planter was started to make sure it was all kosher. Course, they never even offer anything like that. Another example when the non-farm background is selling to farmers.
