Both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line
I just came up with an idea, I want to run this by you Ted. Instead of running the wire from the boom valve all of the way to the cab to the relay, what if I mounted the relay on the back of the machine next to the boom valves. I would splice into the red wire from the boom solenoid, and use it to activate the relay, as you have described. I would ground the relay to the machine somewhere near the boom valves. Then I could run one side of the flowmeter cable through the controlled side of the relay. When the boom valve is off, the relay contacts would be open, and the flowmeter cable would be deactivated. When the boom valve is on, the contacts on the relay would be closed, and the flowmeter wire would then be activated. What do you think?
