SC Montana where General Custer should've stopped | I am in South Central MT and a large majority of my acres are flood irrigated. I raise alfalfa hay for my cattle, winter wheat, spring wheat and a sugarbeet rotation. We dont have beans in this area and very little corn either, not much market place for them unless you can feed your corn to your own livestock, not a feeder area. I locked in some harvest delivery spring wheat on Monday this week when the Sept 11' board was at 9.71 and our elevator is a plus .25 for HRS and he pushe it .04 so I ended up with cash price of $10.00/bu. at 14% prot. I am tickled pink to be raising spring wheat right now, I hope everyone has a good year. Also glad I quit raising Malt Barley for the Colorado guys 4 years ago.
