Southern Ab
I just received my license for restricted weapons in Canada. Which means I can purchase and possess handguns for target and competition. The laws have changed somewhat here just lately. First of all a trapper can carry and storage rules are relaxed for that purpose. And THEORETICALY a farmer, feedlot operator etc can dispatch an animal with a handgun. It depends on how you interpret the changes. I wouldnt want to be the first to challenge that law. These are minor changes but nothing like this has come along for years. But I think the vast majority of Canadians are satisfied with our handgun laws which have the intended effect of limiting numbers. We are divided rural and city with rural people wanting more flexibility to use them on private land. Our laws regarding long guns are pretty much common sense except for the Firearms registry. If we can get a Conservative majority that would be gone fairly quickly. just my opinion.
