| Good thing it didn't turn into the Aloha 737.
In general, Southwest maintance is thought of as top notch. But still, things happen that are just outside anyone's control.
Another thing is SWA actually flies there planes. Alot. According to Southwest, their planes fly for 10 hours 51 minutes per day, impressive when the industry standard is somewhere around 7 to 9 hours for similar airframes. At one time, SWA fleet utlization was well over 11 hours, approaching 12 hours from some sources.
The plane is question is a 737-300. Released in 1981, and SWA was a launch carrier for it. So they have been flying this series for a few years.
