SE SD | Your talking a front fold not a wing fold correct? Assuming you are what we do is find a spot in the field where one side is on a little bit of a hill like an old fence row or something. The hill helps push the frame together making it easier to crank the safety thing. I always wondered if loose bushings on the row unit would cause the down pressure springs to not push up on the frame like they used to when folding the planter. When we bought our planter someone had stole the heavy duty down pressure springs off of it. We wanted to work on it before the new springs arrived and it was impossible to fold it far enough forward to get the bolt thing to start. We had to use a floor jack. When we put the springs on it worked much better. | |
