NW Washington | Buy a box of Bisquick. Dump Bisquick into bowl, add milk, stir until dough forms. Knead a couple of times, roll out, cut and bake.
Follow instructions on the box.
Biscuits are flour, shorting, baking powder, salt and a little milk or buttermilk. Add a little baking soda if you use buttermilk.
Cut shorting into flour, baking powder and salt mix until it looks mealy, then add liquid to make a dough. Knead just a little and roll to thickness desired, cut and bake in a hot oven. Too much mixing, kneading and rolling is said to make the biscuits tough. I think biscuits were made with lard in the old days. Lard is not any worse for you than Crisco.
