East Central Ia | I usually dig down till I find the tile and don't any deeper then 1/2 the diameter of the tile with the hoe. I then dig the rest out by hand and try to stay above the main a littler bit. I can really cheat that here though as we are pretty rolling and I don't have to go far to maintain grade and still get to the depth I want.
And I try to use internal couplers and make then tight. And Tap tees are wonderful!
