Yield monitor. You can always steer, you can't map yields manually. Like others have said, using the data is at least as important as collecting it. More and more, you are seeing recommendations for multi year analyses, so if you are going to take advantage of that, you need to get started now!

You didn't mention row shutoffs, those can, depending on your fields give very good return. The Agleader Edge can do your yield monitoring and do row controls. You won't get it all done for 5K, but down the road it will be there for you.
