the way You could check ( also to perhaps learn something about cattle ) is to simply keep track of the Midland Bull test results ongoing.

Everything is on the individual bull weighed feed program thus by the Spring sale there are the RFI ratings AND more importantly actual weighed feed conversion for each individual bull.

Keep in mind, if that RFI is a low or negative ( negative is better...best bulls last year were in the - 3 to -4 range converted in the 3.5 to 4.2 lbs of feed per lb. of gain ) number, in my view that MUST also be supported by a relatively like ACTUAL weighed feed number too. ( say a -1.5 bull is better at 6 lbs feed vs a suppossed -1.5 bull consuming 8 lbs ).

RFI btw, is Highly heritable thus same diffs exist in all other cattle too.

Some cattle are converting at 3.5 lbs of feed, some are using 10 lbs...that's why alot of averages are 6 to 7 lbs.
