They went nearly extinct , along with the red fox during the 80's-90's. The coyote population got so high that they about killed all the jack rabbits and fox in central ND. Mange and hunting cut the coyote population a bit and now we see a few jack rabbits and very rarely a red fox.
Any body see Jack rabbits anymore?
