Near Richmond, IN | Mark, check them out well before you get one. My wife wanted a "nook" I think it's called but looked at both. The nook operates off of wifi and 3G, I think, but it's the AT&T 3G network and it's almost unavailable in a lot of places that we thought we'd be when she wanted to use it. Plus wireless isn't available in some places. We have it (wireless) at home and she could use it here but on the road she thought it wouldn't be much use. Of course if you're going to download books at home or what ever, to read later, then the coverage areas wouldn't matter a lot. Here's a comparison map: http://www.cellularmaps.com/3g_compare.shtml
She was going to get one for her mother who lives just at the east edge of Hagerstown but found that she wouldn't be able to use it there-no wifi and no 3G. | |
