Brisbane, Australia | I've just done this for an RTK332...........if you have another look, the joey radio has a small breather in the top plate which actually does allow water in. I think you'll find that when attached to a 252/262 the moisture level is held below the top of this breather and it can't get into it. I thought the same thing until the day after we started using it we had over 4 inches of rain and the radio stopped working - opened it up and it was full to the brim - needless to say the radio now no longer works and there are black marks around a few of the major components on the pcb....my advice, wrap it in a plastic bag so it doesn't come into contact with moisture directly if there is any chance of it getting wet.
Otherwise it works fine when we replaced it with another one though we had to install the latest firmware into it to get it to work in the first place for some reason? | |
