when the steering wheel is turned to disengage there is a momentary increase in current to the motor which is detected by the controller. If there is excess resistance in the power leads, then there is a (brownout) voltage drop to the unit. to prevent the voltage drop, insure that the connections to the battery are secure. replace the cigarette lighter with a direct connection, or at least plug it in and out a few times to remove oxidies that may develop on the contacts. you have to get the power right before you do the roll calibration.
