Google's digital elevation model comes from NASA's shuttle radar topology mission:

They estimate the maximum vertical error to be around 9meters (30ft). It's interesting to note that the data has a post spacing of about 100ft, meaning they only take an elevation reading once every hundred feet.. so if your property has a lot of hills on it, the elevation data is probably less accurate than if it is nice and flat.
