Aberdeen MS
The problem as I see it, old time practices attempting to be the "rule" with a newer form of practice applied.

Many times I hear, "strip till".... park the FC, hook to the strip tiller and farm as usual. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possible nutrient application savings, totally dependent on each FIELD, not farm, is such a small part of possible increased net profit. The nutrient variation though is one that can be easily manipulated from year to year that it a true variable.

The increased savings by strip tilling/conservation tillage can be more than offset with the increased management needed. Enough so that some will throw up their hands and "quit" as it's too hard to accomplish.

Just my nickel.
