Subject: RE: 1680 PTO clutch

If it were my machine, I would not do any disassembly without first a flow and pressure test of the clutch pump. It is a very easy test to perform. You might try to rent, borrow, beg the flow meter from the dealer and perform the test to know what you are up against. Reason being, even if you take it to the dealer and have the clutch rebuilt, if the pump/prv is not giving proper pressure and flow, you'll smoke the new clutch in a couple hours. Fewer and fewer dealers are retaining experienced help. Many techs/mechanics today simply repair the failed parts without knowing the cause of the failure or trying to locate it and insure a second failure does not happen. A tech with experience will.

 IMO.
