Saronville NE | Personally I have made good money on hay over the years and have never really had the collection troubles, everybody talks about. IDK what you are selling it for but this year I sold some picked up right behind the baler at $85 with no shrink in the bales and figuring everything at $85 a ton it competed with $4.50 corn this year, with less input costs. But we do have a field that is only 3 yrs old, was a very good stand till we got army worm in it this year and we didnt catch it soon enuff and hurt our stand and is under irrigation that will get torn up and go to corn next year, with the thinner stand it wont compete with $4.50 corn. Good luck. | |
