I set up a deere repeater 6 months ago and used a walmart battery and solar panel from northern tool (BatteryMINDer Solar Charging System — 12 Volt, 15 Watt Panel, Model# SCC-015). I have not had any trouble with it. It is at full charge every time I check it. It has been 100% more reliable than my base with a battery and 1.5 v charger. Tempted to put solar on it.
