| if your running a shanked nh3 machine, even on 20 inch centers you will see streaking/ stripping untill you get enough rain in the spring to distributed it between shank spacings. nh3 is a little cheaper per N, but i think you will run more risk applying it as your main N source. i think your idea of running 30 lbs of both N and P preplant sounds good, dry phos here is cheaper and should incorporate easier infront of the drill. you can run phos in furrow but not much if any nitrogen at all if your going that route. our program consists of running 30 lbs actual phos(11-52-0) in furrow at planting, also will run 30 lbs N broadcast at planting as well, spring i will topdress anywhere from 50-80 lbs actual N and 10 lbs S. If im running dry i will also run 20 lbs actual 0-0-60 as my chloride(50%) and potash source. | |
