actually it is that easy. Everybody seems to want to make things super complicated but it isn't. I think most of the confusion lies in that the 20% "corn borer" refuge is actually Herculex RootWorm (or acremax RW as you put it) wich previously did not exist.
IF you choose to use this system, then you have to plant the HXRW adjacent to the rest of the field the way you always did but you now get 90% rootworm protection. Apparently the mixed single plants don't get near as much feeding as they would in a block which does kind of make sense.
I guess it is kind of complicated!! haha
Actually the refuge has to be within 1/2 mile and not adjacent. You may be thinking of Smartstax which requires the 5% refuge to be planted in the "same field". |
