So to compare cost to the elevator we have to take that 30 gallons times $2 for diesel without road tax to get about $60 plus the minimum 1.18% shrink on $4 corn for a shrink cost of $84.96 or an on farm drying cost neglecting the cost of labor, handling, and dryer ownership of about $145 compared to $171 at the elevator without having to pay double handling, labor, or cost of ownership.
