"July was the 305th consecutive month with an average temperature above the 20th century average. The last month with below average temperature was February 1985. Makes one wonder if the corn belt will move north with time if the climate is changing as some have predicted?"

When you're at the peak of a trend, and the "avg" is based on a cool spell stuff like that happens.

Ask yourself, with the "strong" El Nino, why were the temperatures cooler than 1998?

Also, do you really think we know the average temperature of the entire Earth to a tenth of a degree? Because that's what we're talking about.

And, one more thing. The avg's aren't going up because the highs are getting higher, the avg's are going up because the lows aren't quite as cool. Disaster?
