St. Gregor, SK, Canada | Yes, you can use the EZ500. You'll need to connect a 9-pin cable from your "EZ-Guide"'s output to the "GPS" 9-pin on the back of the 3000. Make sure that you have a NULL MODEM type cable... The straight-thru type WILL NOT WORK. Very important that you have the right cable. The 3000 outputs power on some of the pins - and a straight-thru cable would energize the corresponding pins on your EZGuide.
