NW Iowa
We have a 4430 with a quad. Tractor has ~12,000 hrs on it and the trans has been worked on twice. First time was probably around 7k hrs and the last time was just last year, one worn gear so we lost B1&2. This used to be one of the big boys around the farm, discing, cultivating, hauling wagons, manure tanks, etc. This last winter, it has been 'demoted' to loader duty work and some of the lighter jobs. I've run an 8 speed PS a few years back. Absolutely hated it because of the jerkiness and the huge speed gap between gears (or so it seemed). I'd take the quad over the ps (8 sp) any day. Very handy and once you figure out which gears you like to use in it, it'll become second nature.
