ECMN
Buddy of mine with a dairy operation, back in KS in the 80's had a 4430 PS MFWA for a loader tractor/ silage pusher. They all but abused that poor tractor and last I knew it had somewhere near 9000 hrs on it with no problems. I think the 40 series had some updates on the 30s. Also at the time had 4 4020 powershifts one which was the feeding tractor with a loader as well. Also a 46 & 4840 ps, I don't think they had any trans problems with any of the them. They don't have as as many speeds as a quad but they are sure handy.
