Central KS | We had the same thing happen to us in 2000 and 2002. Hope it is not this year as well, still ok for another week or so.
Both years, on majority of acres, just planted right into them. Some were only knee high, however some were chest high
as yours are. We even cut several strips in the field to see if there were any beans out there. If memory serves me correctly,
the wheat was best where we planted into them,unharvested. In the strips where we test cut the wheat looked better all season.
Don't know the reasoning for that. I would not hesitate to plant wheat directly into tha standing beans. JMHO | |
