Subject: Twin Cities to Des Moines Ride

Maybe on wrong Forum, but still ends in $.

Twin Cities to 20-25 miles into IA is very good to maybe great corn. (If remember last mile marker in IA is 214, so around mile marker ~190) Beans not completely closed though.

From marker 190 to ~130, my eagle-eyed agronomist (my wife) asked "What happened to the corn? It's so uneven and crappy looking." When she recognized it, it is bad. A lot of uneven and yellow corn and huge ponds. 30" row beans there haven't closed.

From 130 to ~100, corn looked better again. More closing of bean rows. Then could see some wet spots and yellowing again.

Could see fld cult tracks in yellow corn in certain places, something I don't recall seeing this late in the season.

With La Nina marching forward, if it gets a little dry, the shallow corn roots and lack of filling of beans could create some surprises.

With old time Russia having crop problems, a few hic-cups along the way here could change world numbers.
